►Comedian Jo Brand has refused to apologise for suggesting that battery acid should be thrown at politicians.

Asked about a milkshake being thrown at Nigel Farage, she said: “Why bother with a milkshake, when you could get some battery acid?”

But today she refused to apologise, saying: “There have been plenty of explanations by the BBC and Victoria Coren.”
