UFC challengers Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier continued their war of words at a UFC 242 promotional event in Las Vegas on Friday.

Nurmagomedov (27-0 MMA, 11-0 UFC) questioned his opponent's stamina when being mauled.

Interim lightweight champion Poirier (25-5 MMA, 17-4 UFC) responded immediately before vowed to bring the undisputed belt back to the US.

The Russian boxer also disputed the supposed home advantage he will get in Muslim-majority Abu Dhabi.

"My job is when cage closes, it's like nobody help us. No corners, no fans, me and him only," he said.

UFC 242 is set to take place at The Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi on September 7.

The lightweight title fight will be the first time Nurmagomedov competes in the octagon since last October, after receiving a nine-month suspension for brawling with Conor McGregor and his staff at the end of UFC 229 in Las Vegas.
