The Keto Diet Can Take A Big Bite Out Of Your Wallet--But It Doesn't Have To

High-fat keto diets are super trendy right now, but that doesn't mean they're easy. Or cheap.
Kinesiologist and cancer researcher David Harper has been on a high-fat ketogenic diet for six years, along with his wife Dale Drewery.
According to Business Insider, they like how it makes them feel, but they have to cook most of their meals at home.
They also grocery shop almost every day, since their diet relies heavily on fresh produce and animal products.
Harper estimates that he and Drewery spend $1.50 more per day on groceries than their neighbors.
We probably spend about 60 bucks a month on nuts alone.
But not everything's expensive. Chicken, eggs, pork, and liver, for example, aren't as pricey per pound as nuts, butters, and seeds.
