The troubled Woodstock 50 anniversary music festival planned for August was officially canceled on Wednesday.
The three-day festival, that was designed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the iconic 1969 celebration was slated for Aug. 16-18.
“We are saddened that a series of unforeseen setbacks has made it impossible to put on the festival we imagined."
Michael Lang

The cancellation was expected after an embattled five months in which organizers lost funding and headlining acts.
According to Reuters, tickets never went on sale for the festival.
