Iranian Minister of Information and Communications Technology, Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi, showcased intact satellite Nahid-1 in Tehran on Saturday, days after the rocket that was reportedly supposed to carry it exploded on the launch pad.

"Well, regarding the issue of it (the satellite) being destroyed or not, the Ministry of Defence will speak about it. However, the Nahid satellite is here meaning that nothing has happened to the Nahid satellite because the Nahid satellite was placed in the radar."

Footage of the satellite comes after a Friday tweet of the US President Donald Trump showing the explosion site, with some raising fears that the image he shared was classified.

The relations between the US and Iran have degraded since the US abandoned the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, also known as the nuclear deal, having reinstated sanctions on the country and some of its governmental officials.
