New research shows an antidepressant may work for anxiety better than depression.
Sertraline or Zoloft was found to lower anxiety in people with depression, says UPI.
The study included 653 people in England between ages 18 and 74 who underwent surgery.
About 54% of the patients were diagnosed as depressed, while 46% suffered anxiety.
15% had both conditions and another 15% were undiagnosed but had symptoms.
The patients' reported depressive symptoms that ranged from mild to moderate over the previous two years.
