Ireland: Eamonn Harrison appears in Dublin court over Essex lorry deaths

22-year-old man from County Down, Eamonn Harrison, appeared at the High Court in Dublin on Monday, in connection with the deaths of 39 people discovered in a lorry container in Essex last month.

Harrison, who is being held in Ireland, appeared at the court for mention over a European Arrest Warrant (EAW), as the Essex police have started extradition proceedings to bring him to the UK.

Harrison is facing 39 manslaughter charges and two conspiracy charges. He has been remanded in custody until the expected full hearing on November 21.
