As Thanksgiving nears, a so-called 'Bomb Cyclone' is whipping across America's west coast.
The U.S. National Weather Service warned on Wednesday that a Bomb Cyclone was affecting several states including Minnesota, South Dakota and Iowa at a speed of 120 kilometers an hour.
Bomb Cyclone is a rapidly strengthening winter storm caused by a precipitous drop in atmospheric pressure.
Oregon's Transportation Department has closed stretches of highways, and in Colorado, a truck crash left one person dead.
Some parts of Minnesota saw 30 centimeters of snow on Wednesday morning alone.
