Dozens of supporters of the head of the Libyan National Army (LNA) Khalifa Haftar, gathered in Benghazi on Saturday, to protest against the Turkey-Libya maritime deal signed between the rival Government of National Accord (GNA) and the Turkish government in November.

"We are out today, all of us, from all the regions [of Libya] to condemn the agreement Sarraj, the traitor, made with Turkey, despite the fact that he does not have the competence to make agreements," said one of the protesters.

The demonstrator expressed hope that "we will liberate the capital and the entire homeland," before adding that "we support our armed forces" and "we reject the agreement with Turkey and the foreign intervention."

On November 27, Libya's GNA and Turkey signed the agreement, mapping out a maritime boundary between both countries in the Mediterranean, close to the Greek island of Crete, leading the Greek authorities to expel Libyan Ambassador Mohamed Younis A.B. Menfi from Greece.

On Thursday, President of the Libyan Parliament Aguila Saleh Issa rejected the deal, calling it "void" and "unlawful", noting that "those who signed it do not have any legal authority to do so."
