Speaking to PBS NewsHour’s Lisa Desjardins during a break from the second day of oral arguments by House managers in the Senate impeachment trial of President Donald Trump, Sen. Bob Casey, D-PA pressed the importance of hearing witness testimony. Hearing witness testimony is a matter of both foreign and domestic importance, Casey said. Speaking of the impeachment process in the Senate, Casey said “this is a trial that the constitution demands.” The White House will give its defense after the House managers have been allowed 24 hours over the course of three days to present their case. The House of Representatives impeached the president in December on two articles -- abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The trial will determine whether Trump is convicted of those charges and removed from office, or acquitted.
