As the coronavirus outbreak in China sends ripples of concern throughout the world, CGTN's Tian Wei spoke to Richard Hatchett, CEO of the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI). He talked about what the virus is, how viruses spread, and what the global health community can do to stop the outbreak. China has stepped up efforts to contain the outbreak with transportation suspended in a number of cities in Hubei Province. Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak, has suspended outbound air and train travel. Health authorities say over 1,300 cases have been confirmed globally, and 41 people have died. Almost 5,000 people are under medical observation after having had close contact with the infected patients.
