Regular mosque-goers at the London Central Mosque shared their reactions to the stabbing of the mosque's muezzin, the person who leads the call to prayer, in the UK capital on Thursday.

Adnan Ridha, who wasn't present at the time of the attack blamed "weak security inside the mosque" for the attack.

Ridha also stated that he had seen the suspect come to the mosque before and said that he knew the muezzin, who has been identified as the 69-year-old Rafat Maqlad.

Another worshipper, Yazid Feniche, said that he had heard that the suspect was believed to be suffering from a mental illness.

The police arrested the 29-year-old suspect at the scene, while the victim was taken to hospital and is reportedly in good condition.
