On Tuesday, the 19 children at Christ Faith Home for Children in Manapakkam had a visitor who looked just like them, but spoke in a thick Australian accent. 30-year-old Lakshmi Cashmore was three when she left the orphanage after being adopted by an Australian couple. While planning her first visit to India, she wanted to visit the place where her biological mother abandoned her. Her mother abandoned her because she was suffering from polio as a kid. Lakshmi and her adopted mother spent two emotional hours at the orphanage.
