With growing concerns over the virus... South Korea and the U.S. have postponed their joint military exercise that was set for March.. until further notice.
This is the first time the allies have canceled a planned joint military exercise due to viral outbreak.
The Combined Forces Command and Seoul's Joint Chiefs of Staff said on Thursday.... they took into account the South Korean government's declaration of the highest alert level on COVID-19.
They said,.... they prioritize containment efforts and the safety of the service members.
However, despite the canceled exercises, the alliance says, it's committed to maintaining a robust combined defense posture... to protect South Korea against any threats.
