Eight chimneys at a coal-fired power station in Australia were demolished by the company's owner on Monday.

The 449ft towers at the Hazelwood Power Station in Morwell, near Melbourne, were built in the 1960s.

But they haven't been used since 2017, local media reported.

The towers contain asbestos and the site will be monitored following the demolition, local media reported.
