Black Muslims led a vigil honouring George Floyd at his memorial site Minneapolis, on Saturday.

During the vigil people gathered held placards and listened to activists.

One activist Filsan said, "We want people to know that we are against police brutality, because this has been plaguing our community for years." She added, "Multiple black families, Muslim black families that have had their family member killed by police brutality and this is also our issue," said Filsan.

In attendance was the wife of Abu Kassim Jeilani, a Somali man who was shot in 2002 by police while carrying a machete. Kassim's wife said her husband was suffering from mental illness, and wants to bring the police that killed her husband to justice after so many years.
