They may look cute and cuddly, but the Australian government says koalas may not be around for much longer in New South Wales, the country’s most populous state. A year-long report from the Australian parliament found the population was already on the decline, but the most recent brush fire season was the worst in the country’s history and proved lethal to the koalas.
