US media came under scrutiny in China on Wednesday. Outlets such as AP, CBS and NPR have one week to disclose details of their operations, personnel, financials, and numerous other demands, in retaliation for what the Chinese government calls suppression of Chinese media. Some of this is due to Western media’s characterization of unrest in Hong Kong as “pro-democracy” demonstrations. Meanwhile, US media is labeling Black Lives Matter protests as “riots.” RT America’s Rick Sanchez explores the press angle of these protests.
