Tanzanians voted in parliamentary and presidential elections on October 28. President John Magufuli and his ruling CCM party were set for landslide victory that observers said raised doubt over the vote's credibility. Meanwhile the opposition decried fraud, like ballot stuffing.Ivory Coast votes in presidential elections on October 31 in which Alassane Ouattara is running for a controversial third term. Around 30 people have died in clashes leading up to the elections, raising fears of a repeat of disputed polls in 2010, when 3,000 were killed.
