READ MORE: The Ethiopian government and the Tigray regional government have continued a conflict that has caused more than 35,000 people to flee into neighboring Sudan.

The Tekeze River separates the two countries, and more than 21,000 people have made the crossing into a small village on the Ethiopian-Sudanese border.

The United Nations estimated that more than 200,000 people might cross the border in the next six months and has asked for $200 million to help fund the refugee crisis in Sudan. (AP)
