Since the moratorium on evictions was lifted in Massachusetts, filings have risen to pre-pandemic levels — and many more are expected when federal protections end in less than a month. The state is fortifying a number of existing relief programs to try to keep people in their homes, but experts say those resources fall short of what is needed. And as Liz Neisloss reports, once a family is pushed out of their home, the cycle of instability can go on for years.
