At 3:15 p.m. EDT, NASA astronaut and scientist Kate Rubins will speak about her recent mission on the International Space Station and answer questions. Rubins returned home to Earth on Sat., April 17, after spending 185 days aboard our orbiting laboratory.

During their mission, she and her crewmates welcomed NASA’s SpaceX Crew-1 astronauts to the station. She completed two spacewalks, bringing her career total to four, and returns to Earth with 300 days across her two flights, the fourth most days in space by a U.S. female astronaut.

Rubins spent hundreds of hours working on new space station experiments, building on investigations she conducted during her first mission, including heart research and multiple microbiology studies. She also advanced her work in DNA sequencing, and collected hundreds of microbial samples at different locations within the space station to advance understanding of its microbiome.
