A new session of Parliament starts with #StateOpening and the #QueensSpeech on 11 May, but what is a session of Parliament?

The House of Lords get back to work once the Queen’s Speech finishes. After debating the content of the speech, it continues its important role checking and revising draft laws, scrutinising government decisions and investigating current issues and policies.
