GasBuddy’s Patrick De Haan advised drivers worried about running out of gas amid ongoing fuel shortages to “just be patient” rather than spend hours looking for an open pump. “I would just simply sit home, wait it out and then wait for the situation to pass. It will start improving,” De Haan said. He added that it’s important for frontline and essential workers to have access to the gas they need to continue driving, and hoarding could make it harder for this group to fill up their tanks. De Haan joined the PBS NewsHour’s William Brangham on Thursday to discuss the cyberattack and continued gas shortages throughout the U.S.
