India's Coronavirus Crisis: India registered 1,32,788 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the Union health ministry's data released on Wednesday morning showed. The country's active caseload now stands at 17,93,645 even as total active cases declined by 1,01,875 in the last 24 hours. In wake of the pandemic, CBSE Class 12 board exams 2021 have been cancelled after the meeting chaired by PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday. After CBSE, the CISCE also cancelled Class 12 board exams. Also, the B.1.617.1 and B.1.617.2 variants of the Covid-19, first identified in India, have been named as 'Kappa' and 'Delta' respectively by the WHO as it named various variants of the coronavirus using Greek alphabets to simplify public discussions and also help remove stigma from the names.
