A vigil has been held for the late Conservative MP, who was fatally stabbed on Friday in Leigh-on-Sea.

Dozens of mourners gathered in the church to attend the ceremony were seen praying. A portrait of David Amess stood next to an altar while two priests and acquaintances spoke at the podium.

Police confirmed that a 25-year-old suspect was arrested on murder charges and that a knife was found at the scene. No other suspects are being sought.
