Ted Cruz recently suggested that Dr. Anthony Fauci should be jailed for his alleged role in the COVID-19 pandemic, a completely baseless allegation that is gaining steam among anti-vaxxers and conservatives alike. But Fauci didn't miss a beat when CBS asked him about the claim from Cruz, and Fauci laughed it off and said we should ask the Republican Senator what happened on January 6th. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses the obsession with Fauci and why Cruz can't seem to win a fight against ANYONE.

Republican Senator Ted Cruz loves to pick fights with individuals and as long as I've been doing this, I've never seen Ted Cruz actually win one of these fights. He loves to make fun of people, loves to take cheap shots on social media and then immediately gets destroyed by these individuals. And it doesn't matter who it is. It doesn't matter if it's celebrities or if it's other members of Congress, or if it's just average people commenting on his idiotic Twitter feed, Ted Cruz is a serial loser and he lost another big one this week when he got absolutely humiliated by Dr. Anthony Fauci. Recently, Ted Cruz bought into the whole right wing talking point that Fauci is somehow responsible for the entire pandemic. Now that has become a favored talking point of Republicans basically for this entire year and of course, we even have some people on the left trying to say that, oh, Fauci's some evil little gremlin who's behind all this. That's not true. Um, you all are a little nutty for even suggesting this. But, hey, whatever. So Fauci did an interview with CBS news this past weekend and he was asked about Ted Cruz's comments because Ted Cruz said Fauci should be thrown in jail for his involvement. And Fauci laughed it off.

He said, I have to laugh at that. I should be prosecuted. What happened on January 6th, Senator? I like that. It's small. It's succinct. And of course it reminds people of an actual crime that was committed that so far, Republican members of Congress has ever escaped any kind of liability for. I should be prosecuted. What happened on January 6th, bro? Did you not see that? You helped facilitate this and of course you also voted to not certify certain state's electoral college votes. Here's my advice to Ted Cruz. You're really bad at this. You're really, really bad at attacking other people. You've lost countless Twitter fights to AOC. Other members of Congress have stepped in and absolutely embarrassed you on Twitter. You can't win fights against Joe Biden. You're not winning any fights against the media. You can't win fights against Jimmy Kimmel or any other celebrities like Seth Rogan or Patton Oswalt, or anybody. And now you can't even win against, what, Fauci's in his eighties. You can't even win against a dude in his eighties. Come on, Ted. At this point, you need to hang it up. It's time to give up, to move on and just forget about the fact that, oh, I think I've got a good zinger. No, you don't. You really don't.

They're going to come back and absolutely embarrass you because what Fauci did in that little tiny statement, and you may not think, oh, he humiliated him. That's overstatement. It's really not. Because a lot of people have forgotten about Ted Cruz's role in all of this. Ted Cruz voted to not certify certain state's electoral college results. Ted Cruz has been sympathetic to Donald Trump's claims of election fraud. At one point, even offering to argue the case himself in front of the United States Supreme Court. People forgot about that and they need to be reminded and I'm glad that Fauci did that. Now I am not a Fauci fanboy, by any stretch of the imagination. I do not think that he is a hero, but I also understand because I'm not a moron, that he's not the villain in this situation. Fauci is not responsible for the pandemic.
