The Taliban's takeover of Afghanistan has sent the country spiralling into a humanitarian crisis.

Today, 19 million Afghans are unable to feed themselves. And that number is expected to rise to 23 million by the end of the year.

3.2 million children are acutely malnourished and 1.1 million are at risk of dying.

Doctors fear 20 years of fragile improvements in infant and maternal mortality and life expectancy will collapse.
