Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has announced that he is already planning to strip certain Democrats of their committee assignments if Republicans win the midterms, a retaliatory move after Democrats stripped Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar of their committees last year. The fact that he feels confident enough to make such an announcement speaks volumes to the corruption of the Republican Party, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

In an interview published by Breitbart this week, House minority leader Kevin McCarthy made it absolutely clear that he is going to politicize his role as a possible speaker of the House, assuming of course, Republicans take back the House of Representatives in the midterms and McCarthy is going to politicize everything by, as he made very clear, stripping certain Democrats of their committee assignments. Committee assignments that, by the way, are hypothetical at this point because Republicans still have to win. New Congress gets sworn in, then committee assignments are handed out. But he says, no matter what he wants to strip at least three Democrats, maybe four of their committee assignments before they even happen. Those per, people are representatives Ilhan Omar, Eric Swalwell, and Adam Schiff and the fourth who he didn't mention in this interview, but he's mentioned in the past is Maxine Waters.

Kevin McCarthy apparently is annoyed that Ilhan Omar gets to sit on the foreign affairs committee. Now I think we all know why and it has to do with racist underpinnings. That's pretty fairly obvious here. She's a Muslim. How can she serve on the foreign affairs committee? Uh, I don't really think there's any other way to read that. If I'm wrong, please let me know. But that kind of seems to be the big thing here. And of course, Swalwell and Schiff have been huge enemies of the Republican party throughout the Trump administration. So yeah, Kevin McCarthy just wants to stick it to them and I guess Maxine Waters as well. Now here's what bugs me so much about this in addition to him just preemptively saying, we're stripping you of your committees, even though you've done nothing wrong, other than us off, is the fact that he feels comfortable enough to say this, to just come out with it and be like, you, you know what, screw it.

We're stripping you of your committees because when I'm in charge, when my party's in charge, we're just gonna be total jackasses to Democrats because that's what the House of Representatives has become. And of course, McCarthy is still mad that Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar got stripped of their committee assignments, but that was with cause. Let's not forget the little cartoon that Gosar put out and of course, all of the disgusting information that has come out in the past year about Marjorie Taylor Greene. So I would say there was cause there to do that. But before McCarthy gets on his high horse and says, we're gonna retaliate against all these Democrats because I'm a sore loser here. Let's not forget something that actually Matt Gaetz said. See, a couple months ago, Matt Gaetz pointed out that he doesn't agree with Marjorie Taylor Greene's attempts to impeach Joe Biden because he doesn't want anybody, either party using impeachment as just a political tool to bully the other party.

So I would have to imagine that the same logic would apply here, right? If you do not have cause to remove these members from their committees, why go down that path? Because we know that control of the House of Representatives can swing from one election to the next, every two years it could change. So McCarthy, if you want to do that, guess what's gonna happen next time, Democrats are gonna do the same thing, possibly even to you and so on and so forth.
