Islamic State Baghdad Bombing Targeting Shiites Kills More Than 70

The Islamic State carried out a truck bombing on a mostly Shiite district of Baghdad, Iraq, on Thursday, killing at least 70 people and wounding at least 200. The truck detonated on the Jamila market in the predominantly Shiite Muslim district of Baghdad's north-eastern Sadr City at about 6 a.m. local time. The Islamic State took responsibility via social media, stating it launched the attack targeting Shiite militia members. The death toll is expected to rise.
