Golden Gate Bridge Toll Going Up Wednesday

Published on 2 Jul 2015, 13:08
Motorists will be paying an extra quarter to cross the Golden Gate Bridge beginning Wednesday, but because of electronic toll collection, there will be no fumbling for change.
The toll for FasTrak users increases from $6 to $6.25. The toll for pay-by-license-plate motorists increases from $7 to $7.25. And carpoolers will pay $4.25 instead of $4.
Beleaguered motorists should be glad they’re not driving trucks, whose drivers will pay a lot more depending on the size of their rigs. The toll for a seven-axle truck goes up a full $7, from $42 to $49. The Golden Gate Bridge car tolls will increase by another quarter on July 1, 2016, and by the same amount on July 1, 2017, and July 1, 2018.
