U.S. Backed Kurds Are Killed During Turkish Airstrikes

(CNN)The Turkish military carried out airstrikes Tuesday in Iraq and Syria, saying it was targeting the Kurdistan Workers Party, or PKK, a group it considers to be terrorist.
In a written statement, the Turkish armed forces said it had "neutralized" 70 PKK "terrorist" fighters -- 40 in northern Iraq and 30 others in northeastern Syria.
ut two other Kurdish groups, which the United States is assisting in the fight against ISIS, said the strikes killed more than 20 of their fighters.
